Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 15, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 18, 2026

Plain-English summary: We collect only what you choose to give us — your account details, travel records, and any photos you add. We don't sell your data, show you ads, or share your information with third parties beyond what's needed to run the app. Social features (being searchable, following others, sharing trips to a feed) are off by default and opt-in, and you can make any individual trip private. You can export or delete everything at any time.

1. Introduction

Reindyr ("we," "us," "the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. By using Reindyr, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have questions, contact us at support@reindyr.com.

Information collected automatically

We do not run analytics or tracking scripts. Supabase may collect standard server-side metadata (IP addresses, request timestamps) for security and abuse prevention, as described in Supabase's Privacy Policy. GitHub Pages may log IP addresses and request metadata per GitHub's Privacy Statement.

Cookies and local storage

Reindyr uses browser local storage to remember your session between visits (so you don't have to sign in every time). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to:

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the Service.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Public and social visibility (only if you opt in)

Social features are off by default. If you turn them on, your username, display name, avatar, hometown, and bio become discoverable in user search, and people you approve as followers can see your non-private trips (including photos) on your profile and in their feed. You stay in control:

Sensitive profile fields (phone number, birthday, gender, birth place) are never shown to other users — they are restricted at the database level to you (and a linked partner).

With your linked partner

If you link accounts with a partner, that partner can read your travel data (states, trips, photos) in the shared map view — including trips you mark private. This is the core feature of couple mode and you control it — you can unlink at any time.

With service providers

We use Supabase as our backend provider (database, authentication, file storage). Supabase processes data on our behalf and is contractually bound to appropriate data-protection standards. No other third-party vendors have access to your data.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or a valid government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Reindyr, its users, or the public.

Business transfers

If Reindyr is acquired or merged with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Service before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party, ever.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your personal data — including your profile, travel records, avatar, and authentication credentials — is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. Backups may retain data for an additional period consistent with Supabase's backup policies before permanent erasure.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access and portability

You can export a full copy of your travel data at any time using the Export backup button in the app (available in the footer while signed in). This downloads all your trip records as JSON.

Correction

You can update your profile information at any time from the Profile settings page.

Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Danger Zone section at the bottom of your Profile settings page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Restriction and objection

If you wish to restrict processing of your data or object to how we use it, please contact us at support@reindyr.com. We will respond within 30 days.
